Great 1st Session Comes to an End @ one of America's Largest CGI's
With a record enrollment of over 500 children k"ah, Gan Israel Day Camps/Morristown had an extraordinarily busy first month, including great trips to theme parks, bowling, boating, roller skating, sports activities and instruction, swimming instruction, and overnights.
Campers could also choose from a huge range of activities like glassworks crafting, music, calligraphy, painting, leather work, pottery, weird science and more. New sports that have been added to the electives are Tennis, Golf, La Crosse, Soccer, Aqua Aerobics and others. Gan Israel has also added newly renovated Game Rooms with choices of activities such as pool, air hockey, basketball, and others.
"The main challenge," says Camp Director Rabbi Mendel Solomon," is that with our current facilities we can only handle 500 children. Many children travel from as far as a 25-mile radius and there's a waiting list of children wanting to attend."
With many competing new day camps in the area, Gan Israel Day Camps/Morristown has become the camp of choice, catering to children from a variety of Jewish backgrounds. Our latest addition is the division of Mini Gan Izzy for 2 and 3 year olds, located in West Orange, NJ, catering to the local Jewish Community.
"We are most appreciative to our more than 100 staff members for their selfless devotion," says Camp Co-Director Mrs. Chana Devora Solomon, Camp is running beautifully, a real Kiddush Hashem. We're looking into building larger facilities to accommodate our ever-growing camper enrollment. "What makes Gan Israel so unique is our Chabad staff, who spend endless evening hours preparing and enhancing the overall schedule, permeated with that special “Gan Izzy spirit” that is second to none.
