The famous skyline in Hong Kong looked a bit different this past week as Chabad’s Giant Menorah and first-time Car Parade brought an added dimension of light. “Although we have been doing this for 21 years, this year’s events introduced a new meaning of Chanukah to Hong Kong” says Rabbi Avtzon, head shliach of China.

An impressive occasion held today in Berlin in the presence of thousands of Jews and dozens of public figure the new and glamorous Chabad Jewish Center was inaugurated.
Junior High School 22, in the South Bronx, had run through six principals in just over two years when Shimon Waronker was named the seventh.
Teachers, parents and students at the school, which is mostly Hispanic and black, were equally taken aback by the sight of their new leader: A member of the Chabad-Lubavitch sect of Hasidic Judaism with a beard, a black hat and a velvet yarmulke.
