Rabbinical College of America presents
honorary degrees at 50th Jubilee Celebration


Some 750 friends and supporters of the Rabbinical College of America were present as George Weiss of West Hartford, Connecticut, along with Andrea and Bryan Bier, of West Orange, received honorary doctorate degrees at the College’s National Founders’ Dinner. They expressed their appreciation for the educational and social work of the College and Lubavitch throughout New Jersey and around the world.


Rabbinical College alumnus and former Gan Israel camper Brigade Chaplain  (Captain) Shmuel L. Felzenberg, was presented with the College’s Alumnus Achievement Award by New Jersey Senate President Richard Codey. Felzenberg, who served as Senior Jewish Chaplain in Iraq for one year, delivered a report, along with a visual presentation of his service there. This included his reading of Megilas Esther in the palace of Saddam Hussein, surrounded by murals of the scuds that were sent to Israel.


Chairman of the Board David T. Chase praised the work of the College administration and staff over the past half century. “Not only have they managed to greatly expand the college during this time, but they have also established 41 regional centers in 17 New Jersey Counties.”
